Msida is a harbour town in the Central Region of Malta, just 2.5km away from capital city Valletta.
For a week and a half in July, the town celebrates the feast of its patron saint, St. Joseph. The feast of Msida is also famous for its traditional game il-Ġostra. Places of interest include the Yacht Marina, seaside with traditional fishing boats, and the different gardens: the playing field at 5 ta’ Ottubru Square, the Garden in front of Parish Church and the playing field at Ballijju Guttenberg street Swatar.
Most notable, however, is the University of Malta. Over the years, Msida developed according to the needs of an increasing student population at the University of Malta, situated on a hill known as Tal-Qroqq. This has contributed to Msida’s reputation as a lively student town.
